The Cheltenham Township Police Department is an Accredited Agency through the PA Chiefs of Police and the Pennsylvania Law Enforcement Accreditation Agency (PLEAC).  There are over 1,100 police departments in Pennsylvania and only 120 are accredited.  Accreditation is the professionalization of Law Enforcement and means that our Department has in place and is following the most recommended standards and objectives in policing. The Cheltenham Police Department has held this status since 2012 and re-accreditation occurs every three years.  In an effort to promote transparency the following Directives are provided for public review:
