SALDO (Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance)

Like the Zoning Ordinance, the Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance (SALDO) is a key document in determining the physical characteristics and landscape of a community. And like zoning, SALDO is due for an update.

To expedite that effort, in January of 2018, the Board of Commissioners appointed a five-member committee consisting of the members of the Township Planning and Zoning Department, the Township Engineer, the Township Manager and a Montgomery County Planning Commission representative to draft a comprehensive amendment to SALDO. The goal is to submit the completed draft to the Commissioners’ Building and Zoning Committee for review at public meetings before the end of 2018.

Below are the SALDO updates under consideration as of August 7, 2019.

SALDO Presentation titled, Cheltenham Township Proposed Draft Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance  
presented at the August 7, 2019 Building and Zoning Committee Meeting.

The goal is to submit the completed draft to the Commissioners’ Building and Zoning Committee for review at the Planning Commission meeting on September 23rd. Township is seeking public comment on the proposed draft of the revised SALDO by Friday, September 20, 2019.  Please provide comments  HERE .
