Park Friends Groups

Cheltenham Township offers a wide variety of parks and recreation for the use and enjoyment of its residents. But to maintain and improve this vast network of facilities in order to meet the many needs and interests of our residents, it takes the help of the individuals who use the parks. Our various sports groups spend countless hours and dollars to maintain and improve Cheltenham's athletic fields, while several friends groups have formed to maintain and improve other parks.

Friends of Curtis Arboretum
The Friend of Curtis Arboretum has formed to help implement the vision of the Curtis Arboretum Conservation and Landscape Management Plan. This Plan provides guidance on maintaining and improving the condition of this 47-acre social, historical, architectural, and environmental gem in the heart of Cheltenham Township. The Curtis Friends group is currently focusing on establishing leadership, landscape management and the dog park. For more information about this group, visit their webpage (TBD) and Facebook page.

Friends of High School Park

Perhaps our oldest and most successful Friends group, the Friends of High School Park, have transformed the former Cheltenham High School site in Elkins Park into a natural oasis and hub for social events in Elkins Park. To learn more about High School Park's history and how you can become involved, visit their website or  Facebook page.

Friends of Grove Park
Grove Park is a 2.9 acre park in Glenside which the community loves! Friends of Grove Park is dedicated to increased communication for the purpose of community, recreation and stewardship. More information about this group can be found on its Facebook page.
