Earth Day Activities

2020 Earth Day - 50th Anniversary!

While organized Township Earth Day events were cancelled at the March 18, 2020 Board of Commissioner meeting due to the Coronavirus pandemic, we encourage residents to celebrate nature and practice sustainability around their homes, such as pulling weeds or planting seeds!

In addition, to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day, consider a visit to High School Park (practicing social distance) from April 18-30 to see a preview of the art installation For the Future, which is part of an upcoming exhibition (postponed due to COVID-19) entitled, Ecotactical Earth Day at 50, that will be on view at at the Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education where Eight artists will respond to the question of what Earth Day means or should mean on the 50th anniversary.

Everyone is invited to take part; no registration is needed.
