1. What types of discrimination does the Cheltenham Township Human Relations Ordinance prohibit?

· Use of guide or support animals and/or mechanical aides because of blindness, deafness or physical handicap of the user or, because the user is a handler or trainer of support or guide animals

· Gender Expression
2. Are all types of discrimination prohibited?
No. The ordinance only protects persons from discrimination in employment (with some exceptions for religious organizations and fraternal organizations), housing accommodations (with an exception for housing for older persons and some exceptions for religious organizations and fraternal organizations), publicly-offered commercial property transactions, and public accommodation (such as restaurants, retail stores, public libraries, elementary and secondary schools, and colleges and universities).
3. Do I have to live in Cheltenham Township to be protected by the Cheltenham Township Human Relations Ordinance?
No. If the alleged discrimination occurred in the Cheltenham Township, the ordinance covers it. If you believe you have been a victim of discrimination in Cheltenham Township, the ordinance protects you. You do not have to be a resident of the Township to file a complaint.
