Each year the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office recognizes law enforcement and civilian staff for outstanding work performed in the past year.
Of eight civilians and 43 law enforcement officers commended, our own Detective Matthew Hungerford received the Law Enforcement Commendation Award from Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele on October 7.
"We are blessed here in Montgomery County to have some of the finest law enforcement officers in Pennsylvania, working each and every day at an extraordinarily high level of professionalism,” said DA Steele. “These honorees are among the best, and I am proud to honor each of these civilians and law enforcement officers for their actions.”
This award resulted from Detective Hungerford’s response to an active shooter at the Walmart on August 15, 2018 where multiple victims were shot. In January 2020, the actor was found guilty at trial.
On behalf of Cheltenham Township Police congratulations to Detective Hungerford on a job well done!
