Beware: Unemployment Compensation Scam

If you've received unemployment funds but never filed a claim, please read. & Please share!

If you are the recipient of a check, debit card, or direct deposit labeled as an unemployment claim for which you did not apply, please be informed that this situation has been a widespread occurrence in the Commonwealth, and the Department of Labor & Industry is aware.                            

If you feel you have been scammed,

  1. Make a report with your local/hometown police department.
  2. Return the funds. Instructions for checks, direct deposits, and debit cards can be at the PA Office of Unemployment Compensation’s website here:
  3. Employers can report an unemployment scam through this survey and send to the state.
