The Cheltenham Township Board of Commissioners will discuss the Township's 2021 Budget at multiple public meetings prior to a Public Hearing on December 16, 2020 where Public Comment will be heard prior to considering the adoption of the Budget.

Capital Budget Workshop Meeting: Wednesday, October 28, 2020, 4 p.m.
The Board of Commissioners will review a draft of the 2021 Capital Budget and any remaining questions on the 2021 Operating Budget reviewed at its 2021 Operating Budget Workshop on October 4, 2020. The meeting will be held via Zoom webconference at this link. To call in by phone, dial:

President's Budget Message: Wednesday, November 4, 2020, 7:30 p.m.
As required by Section C1203 of the Cheltenham Township Home Rule Charter, the President of the Board of Commissioners will "explain the budget both in fiscal terms and in terms of programs, policies, activities and plans; describe the important features of the budget; indicate any major changes in financial policies, expenditures and revenues from the current year, together with the reasons for such changes; summarize the Township's debt position and include such other material as the Board may request or which the President deems desirable."

Finance Committee Meeting: Tuesday, November 10, 2020, 8:00 p.m.

The Township's Finance Committee will summarize discussions on the Budget from the Capital Budget Workshop meeting and consider recommending the Board of Commissioners adopt a Preliminary Budget for 2021 and advertise a Public Hearing to hear public comment on the proposed 2021 Budget at its regularly-scheduled meeting of the Board of Commissioners on December 16, 2020.

Board of Commissioners Meeting: Wednesday, November 18, 2020, 7:30 p.m.
The Board of Commissioners will consider adopting a Preliminary Budget for 2021 and authorize advertisement of a Public Hearing to hear public comment prior to considering adoption of a Final Budget for 2021 at its regularly-scheduled meeting on December 16, 2020. Adoption of a Preliminary Budget means that budget expenditures may not be increased more than 10% in total or 25% in any individual line item without being advertised and open to the public for inspection for a minimum of 10 days prior to adoption of a Final Budget.

The Preliminary Budget will be made available to the public for inspection no later than November 25, 2020. It can be found on the Finances and Taxes page on the Township's website.

A Public Hearing will be held to consider public comment on the proposed final budget for 2021. At the conclusion of the Public Hearing the Board of Commissioners will consider adoption of the 2021 Budget. Zoom meeting information TBD.
