 Calendar Details:
State Rep Steve McCarter has introduced a resolution — House Resolution 172 — in the state legislature that would designate April 22 to April 29 as Earth Week in Pennsylvania. And he has planned an exciting opportunity during that week to discuss climate change and how best to protect the planet and our corner of it in Pennsylvania from climate change's widespread and grave effects: a FREE movie screening of the film The Age of Consequences at the Hiway Theater in Jenkintown.

This award-winning documentary investigates the impacts of climate change through the lens of national security and global stability. Distinguished admirals, generals and veterans take the viewer beyond the headlines of the conflict in Syria, the social unrest of the Arab Spring, the rise of radicalized groups like ISIS and the European refugee crisis, and lay bare how water and food shortages, drought, extreme weather and rising sea levels act as accelerants of instability and catalysts for conflict in volatile regions of the world. It is an urgent call to action to address climate change.

Please join me at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26, at the Hiway Theater at 212 Old York Rd., Jenkintown, PA 19046 for the movie and for a panel discussion immediately afterward on climate change, climate change policy in Pennsylvania and what you can do to answer the film’s call to action.

Seating is limited. Please RSVP here for a seat. Also note, parental discretion for children is advised.
