As part of a landscape architecture studio in the Master of Landscape Architecture program at Temple University, Dr. Mary Myers lead university students in a design of a 21.81-acre linear greenway abutting Curtis Arboretum and Rock Creek Drive between August and December 2012. The project assessed the greenway in terms of the overall open space in the area and assess potential linkages to surrounding neighborhoods, Curtis Arboretum and Cedarbrook Middle School.
The master plan for the Rock Creek Greenway helped the Township obtain a $100,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Conversation and Natural Resources for implementation. The plan calls for streambank stabilization, landscaping, invasive plant removal, educational signage and more.
