Nearly a dozen projects to commemorate Earth Day are slated throughout Cheltenham Township, the first community in Montgomery County to adopt a Sustainability Plan designed to make the Township more environmentally friendly and resilient. The activities, which include cleanups, plantings, invasive removals and more, will be conducted on Saturday, April 30, unless otherwise indicated. Everyone is invited to take part; no registration is needed.
In appreciation for their efforts, Earth Day participants are eligible for a coupon for a free hot dog and soda during the 4th Annual Downtown Glenside Arts Festival. The festival will run on April 30 from noon to 6:00 p.m. on Easton Road around Glenside Avenue in Glenside.
All Sustainable Cheltenham activities fall under the umbrella of the Cheltenham Township Environmental Advisory Council (EAC). For more general Earth Day information, contact EAC Member Barb Duffy at firstname.lastname@example.org. Contacts are provided for details about the specific events.
