Merle Spandorfer (seated, right) receives an official resolution from the Cheltenham Township Board of Commissioners in honor of her retirement as a teacher at the Cheltenham Center for the Arts (CCA) after more than 50 years.
An award-winning artist whose works are featured in the permanent collections of over 100 museums and corporations around the world, Spandorfer brought her unquestionable talent and expertise to CCA beginning in 1966. Since then, she nurtured hundreds of artists as they honed their skills and became a lifelong friend and mentor to many. CCA Executive Director Margaret Griffen (seated, left) joined Commissioners (left to right) Daniel B. Norris, Irv Brockington, Ann L. Rappoport, Baron B. Holland, Brad M. Pransky, Drew Sharkey, and Morton J. Simon, Jr., during the presentation at a recent meeting of the board of commissioners at Curtis Hall in Wyncote.
