The Cheltenham Township Board of Commissioners presented official resolutions and community service awards to Arcadia University representatives for their role in the dazzling new mural in Downtown Glenside.
Collaborating with many partners, Arcadia University spearheaded the project by developing an apprenticeship under renowned muralist David Guinn to design and render a mural at the SEPTA underpass by the Glenside Train Station. About a dozen students translated the community’s input into the 90-by-14-foot collage depicting many of Glenside’s architectural flourishes and finished with trendy LED lighting. Accepting the honors were muralist David Guinn (left), Laura Baldwin (second from left), Arcadia University Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, and Arcadia student artists (seated left to right) Tina Ma, Angela Martin and Sydney Welch. Commissioners (left to right) Daniel B. Norris, Irv Brockington, Ann L. Rappoport, Baron B. Holland, Brad M. Pransky, Morton J. Simon, Jr., and Drew Sharkey made the presentations during a recent meeting of the board of commissioners at Curtis Hall in Wyncote.
