Eagle Scout Philip Washington, Jr., receives a community service award.

The Cheltenham Township Board of Commissioners presents an official community service award to Eagle Scout Philip Washington, Jr. (third from left) for achieving Eagle Scout, the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America.  For his Eagle Scout project, Washington removed invasive plants and then beautifully replanted native species in the municipal lot next to the Glenside Pub on Easton Road in Downtown Glenside. Commissioners (left to right) Ann L. Rappoport, Irv Brockington, Baron B. Holland, Daniel B. Norris, Drew Sharkey, Brad M. Pransky and Morton J. Simon, Jr., made the presentation during a recent board meeting at Curtis Hall in Wyncote.
