Potential treasures await at the 25th Annual Market Day on Saturday, September 6, on the grounds of the Richard Wall House Museum, located off Church Road, 1/10 mile west of Old York Road in Elkins Park. The event, which will run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., will feature collectibles, antiques, jewelry, toys, crafts and other items for sale. Admission and parking are free; food, ice cream and beverages will be available. In addition to great shopping, Market Day provides a glimpse into the past with free tours of the historic Richard Wall House Museum. Dated to 1682 and listed on state and national historic registers, the museum features four floors of extraordinary exhibits, a springhouse and a carriage house. The museum’s standing displays include a Roaring 20s room, a Colonial bedroom, an extensive 18th to 19th century tool display and a five-foot tall dollhouse with working electricity from the early 1900s. All proceeds benefit the restoration and maintenance of the museum. For more information or to serve as a dealer for this Cheltenham Township Historical Commission fund-raiser, call 215-887-9159. |
