Dear Artist/Crafter: We invite you to participate in the 8th Annual Glenside Street Fair, sponsored by the Economic Development Task Force of Cheltenham Township, on September 27, 2008 (rain date: Sept. 28 ) from 11 AM to 5 PM. The Fair is ideally located on Easton Road, close to Philadelphia and its lovely surrounding suburbs, accessible by Routes 73, 152, 309 or 611. Our careful planning will ensure an attractive and decorative setting for exhibitors and customers alike. The Glenside Street Fair is a fully juried event and the jury committee’s decision is final. Their decision is based on creativity, marketability and quality of workmanship, as evidenced by your photos. The committee also strives to achieve a balance between the different craft media so that we present an event that has a broad appeal to the public. All merchandise offered for sale must have been hand made by the exhibitors and/or their employees. Should the origin of any craft items come into question, we ask that our show participants be able to provide copies of invoices that demonstrate the purchase of adequate supplies of raw materials used in the creation of the merchandise in question. Professional attitude and consideration for other crafters and event-goers is expected at all times. Your children under 9 years of age and your pets are not permitted behind the tables or in the individual display areas during the show. We will be promoting our Glenside Street Fair via radio ads, print ads, fliers and direct mail. Additionally, this event is featured in the spring Cheltenham Update newsletter and listed in the CHELTENHAM TOWNSHIP ANNUAL REPORT AND CALENDAR mailed to all Cheltenham residences each year. Any exhibitor who does not adhere to our event rules and/or misrepresents their craft will be asked to leave the event and will forfeit his/her fee. RULES AND REGULATIONS(If you do not comply, you will be asked to leave, no refund.) · All crafts must be original and the work of the exhibitor and/or their employees. · Crafters & artists must supply and set up their own tables, chairs and canopies. · You may set up after 8:00 AM but be completely set up before 11:00 AM. · BOOTH SPACES WILL BE ASSIGNED by Cheltenham Township; however, the earlier you apply, the more likely it will be that you attain the space you desire. · Only approved vendors can sell food of any kind. · You must be set up and vending between 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM—no early take-down, regardless of weather, unless approved by Staff. · All vehicles must enter, unload and park under Cheltenham Township police department direction. · Spaces must be clean at the time of your departure. · Exhibits must be removed and space clean by 5:00 PM. We need to reopen Easton Road by 6:00 PM so please make sure you have sufficient help in breaking down your booth. · All photographs will remain on file with the Township. · Booth structures must not obstruct other crafters. · Please have at least two persons for your booth. · A maximum of two (2) crafters may share a space and only two (2) crafts may be offered for sale in one booth. · Your canceled check is your receipt; if your application is not accepted, your check will be returned, unprocessed. · Each crafter is responsible for collection and submission of Pennsylvania sales tax. · Applications will be judged immediately upon receipt from the applicant and notice of acceptance/rejection given shortly thereafter. A panel of judges consisting of artists, crafters and Township volunteers will determine eligibility. · Cheltenham Township will not accept responsibility for loss or damage to crafters’/artists’ work. · Crafters shall carry their own insurance. Crafters shall not injure or deface the street or sidewalk of the Township or any part of the booth exhibit, materials or equipment of any other crafter. When such damage appears, the crafter causing such damage is liable to the owner of the property so damaged. · Vendors must comply with Township health and public safety laws and fire marshal requirements. Check with us about any concerns. Don’t assume. · No electricity will be available, except for Food Court. · Crafts will be judged on originality, quality, uniqueness and popularity · The following booths will not be accepted: commercially manufactured merchandise, inflatable toys, sports cards, entertainment books, informational, except for sponsors. · Displays should be professional in appearance. Please limit your displays to a 6’ height. · Exhibits which include loud noises shall be operated so that the noise resulting will not annoy or disturb adjacent exhibitors and their patrons. · Crafters will store packing crates and boxes near or in their vehicles. · All registration fees are non-refundable. · By signing the Crafter Application and Contract, the exhibitor agrees to abide by these Rules and Regulations and the decisions of the management. Failure to comply with any regulations will result in vendor being prohibited from future participation in Cheltenham Township exhibits. No money will be refunded.
