	2008 Earth Day Activities in Cheltenham Township
NOTE: Many Earth Day activities will be conducted the week of April 21 at Cheltenham School District schools. Activities will include cleanups, planting, Tookany Creek water monitoring, etc. More information and sign up is available through the individual schools. Cheltenham School District Earth Day Festival is Saturday, April 26 from Noon to 3PM at Cedarbrook Middle School. *2005 EARTH DAY PROJECT.* On Earth Day, Sarah White (center, front) and (left to right, back) Ron Dunbar, Bob Brown, Patti Peet and Murray Peet joined a group of 35 Friends of Thomas Williams Park to place fresh woodchips provided by Cheltenham Township on the trail next to the basketball courts in Wyncote. Other Earth Day activities conducted at nine locations around the township included planting trees, bushes and flowers; removing litter, weeds and invasive plants; and labeling storm sewer inlets to discourage dumping since the inlets empty into the Tookany Creek.	Neighborhood, school and community groups will commemorate Earth Day with projects at several locations in Cheltenham Township on Saturday, April 19. Everyone is invited to take part; no registration is needed. Anyone who cannot join one of the listed activities but would still like to help should contact Barb Duffy at 215-885-1506.
